I’ve been in the travel industry for 40 years …wow! ...where does the time go?...and owned an agency for a number of years before selling it. I’ve been very fortunate to visit many areas of the world through my work but also as a leisure traveler, and look forward to more adventures in the years ahead including one that is still on my bucket list ---- travel to ruggedly beautiful Patagonia in South America which is between Chile and Argentina.
Traveling is the best education one can have as it gives a broad and tolerant world view, and the skills learned along the way are ones that can be used in any field of endeavor.
Two things I believe are important when traveling and which have helped me to enjoy the particular locale more are 1) immerse yourself in the culture you’re visiting and respect the culture remembering you represent your country, and 2) see people, places, and things as they are and not as we wish them to be.
