I have been in the travel industry for more than 35 years and specialize in travel to Africa, a destination which I have visited 55 times!
Past travels: It would be easier to say where I have not yet been: Fiji, South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, and Russia – these are my bucket list destinations.
Favorite destination: Tanzania. I also enjoy Paris, Spain, and Italy.
Favorite travel memory: I have a pilot’s license and I flew low across the African plains - it was frightening, yet exhilarating. I was also Gorilla trekking in Rwanda (where at the time they spoke French and not Swahili) and as we were on a dirt path a teenager Gorilla started coming toward us. In my best French, I told the guide, “the gorilla is on our path” and the guide, in return, responded with, “no, you are on her path!” It really put my experience into perspective as this young gorilla began acting like a teenager in front of us. It was such a fabulous experience and a great reminder that we were in their world. Absolutely wonderful time.
Travel tip: Don’t stop until you have seen it all.
Travel style: It may sound corny, but I travel because it touches my soul. I do it to experience the people, nature, and to see the world from a different perspective.
Favorite travel quote: “Going to school is a vertical education. Traveling the world is horizontal.”
